New Leadership Delivering Results for Our Community
Renuka serves on the board of both the Parks, Greenways, and Recreation Commission and North Carolinians against Gun Violence. She organized a Gun Give Back Event in Chapel Hill on September 14th. Renuka is a proud graduate of Chapel Hill’s first People’s Academy and of Chapel Hill’s Community Police Academy.
Renuka has been living in Chapel Hill for 15 years. She has been the PTA president, treasurer, and secretary. She has served on the board as treasurer for her neighborhood HOA, continues to be a board member and an interest group leader for Duke University’s Campus Club (an organization for women), an alumnae representative for her alma mater, and a Girl Scout cookie mom. She continues to ride the trails with the Chapel Hill high school mountain biking team as a parent coach. She also is tutoring a student in preparation for his GED with Orange County Literacy.
Renuka has a BA from Wellesley College and an MBA from the University of Chicago. She worked for Searle pharmaceuticals in Chicago in market research, sales, and as a product manager. She also marketed Executive Education programs for INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France where she lived abroad for 7 years. Renuka has management experience and knows how to get things done. She will utilize her strong analytical and collaborative skills.
Renuka has been married to Jack for 25 years, and they have 2 children. Her son is attending Carleton College and her daughter is studying at Oberlin College. Renuka enjoys spending time with family and friends, exercising, reading, and watching movies and musicals.
